Elisabeth is a highly experienced global senior corporate executive, investor, entrepreneur and board member. She successfully built 24 growth businesses at scale, delivering investor returns and profitability.
As a member of Microsoft’s senior executive leadership team (Corporate Vice President of Sustainability), Elisabeth was responsible for developing and building to multi-billion dollar profitability Microsoft’s global Sustainability business, including stand-alone products with AI functionality, as well as imbedded sustainability tools and capabilities across core enterprise software, Azure Cloud, lap-tops and devices.
Previously, as global EVP of New Energies & Renewables for Shell, Elisabeth operated a $65 billion global P&L, while investing in a portfolio of emerging lower carbon businesses and technologies across several categories including advanced infrastructure, next-generation retail, hydrogen, next generation electricity retail, electric mobility, trading, waste-to-energy, carbon solutions including engineered and nature based solutions, advanced storage and renewables as a service.
A career-long innovator combining digital and physical technology to solve impact related business challenges profitably, Elisabeth has contributed to many commercial global “firsts”, including: the formation of the world’s first Carbon Market in California; the commercialization of the IT Infrastructure Cloud as part of the founding executive team of Loudcloud; the creation of the category of Value-added Produce with her own start-up; the implementation of the world’s first retail customer aggregated and market traded Virtual Power Plant, while EVP of New Energies at AGL; and the world’s first (and largest at the time) Renewable Generation plus PEM Hydrogen Electrolyzer implementation at commercial scale, while EVP at Shell.
Elisabeth’s board experience includes a range of governance leadership, including serving on large global public companies like Anglo American to fund LP leadership with Energy Impact Partners, as the shareholder representative for AGL Energy to growth start-ups like Sunverge and now includes global sustainability NGO Board leadership with HubOcean.
A third-generation farmer, Elisabeth circled back to her roots with the creation of Serenity Spring Farm in Ocala, Florida. In addition to producing top-sport Show Jumping horses, the farm grows Bahia hay and practices regenerative agriculture. Passionate about the nexus of conservation, business profitability, nature positive services, carbon solutions and energy transition, the Farm is a living lab to explore the art of the possible.
